Happy Birthday Google

Happy Birthday Google

Anyone who knows me knows I love Coca-Cola. Sure I like the drink (the diet/zero stuff anyway) but much more than that I’ve always been a huge fan of the brand, in fact in many ways they’re what got me interested in marketing in the very first place.
From collecting coke glasses, trays and souvenirs through to a more critical interest in their latest campaigns and social media I love just about everything the Coke team do & make (especially my Coca-Cola Las Vegas t-shirt I picked up at their wonderful store there earlier in the year).
I’m actually moving to a new job next week based in Uxbridge, right near Coke’s UK headquarters, and they’ll need to beef up security to keep me out! In the meantime I’m just going to gaze longingly at this beautiful chair, a design icon in its own right but now an absolute marketing wonder-thing thanks to the Coca-Cola partnership and the 111 recycled bottles that go into it.
Unfortunately at £200+ (still half the price of the aluminium original) It’ll be a good while before I get to own or sit on one (though my birthday’s coming up in August!) - I wonder if I can request diet bottles?
The chair itself has gone a little bit social thanks to it’s own Flickr stream photo blog, check it out:
