If you check out the various ‘behind the scenes’ videos of the T-Mobile stunt (taken by real or otherwise fans there at the time) you’ll see a real cast of different characters being sung to - it’s clear that it took a few takes/runs through to get all the shots they wanted, but it’s nice to see they do perform it right through.
