Introducing Our Summer Series

Throughout June, July & August we’re going to be exploring three key themes through our 2010 Summer series. Be sure to check back regularly to see they develop or click the big Ask A Question button to get involved yourself.
1. Curation
With the arrival of the internet search engines made it possible for us to sift through and find what we really needed, Google found a way to do it better than anyone else and became by far the market leader.
Now a new battlefield is emerging as the sheer quantity and ‘noise’ across all forms of social media increases. Companies who are able to take these streams and curate them into something more individual & manageable will be well positioned as the power houses of the future.
2. World Cup & The Real World
For all social media’s technological promise it remains most effective when linked closely to tangible things in the real world, whether that be personalised promotions or links with wider marketing strategies.
Sports and events sponsorship is certainly nothing new but with every new event come new technologies and ways to better take advantage of public interest and excitement. The World Cup will be the biggest test for marketers yet and will be a good indication of how social media will be used at the 2012 Olympics and beyond.
3. Want&Quiz
The Want&Quiz isn’t just here for the summer, but it’s still a big part of what we’re about. Challenging everyone (from the industry expert down to the Facebook novice) to have their say on what social media is about and the changes it’s having on the world around them.
